French GCSE Study Session: Belle et Sebastien: L’aventure continue

Recommended for GCSE and equivalent level French
This year in response to the pandemic our study sessions are taking place online. You will need to register your school with Into Film in order to be able to watch the film in advance of the study session. Into Film is free to join and being an Into Film club member will also bring other benefits such as access to many films and free online resources.

A week before the online workshop you will receive a pre-screening resource via email created by our tutor and will have received a DVD of the film from Into Film.

Pre-screening resource: Isabelle Vanderschelden’s pre-screening resource will be a narrated PowerPoint which will introduce the film in a combination of French and English, provide contextual information and key French phrases and vocab.

Online workshop:
This workshop will be led by Isabelle Vanderschelden, Senior  at Manchester Metropolitan University, will examine relevant themes relating to France including childhood, family, rural France, regions and historical background. Your group will be set French language exercises relating to the Alps region, the characters of the film, film genre conventions and intercultural differences. Which will be fed back via the lead teacher on the conference call.
