To celebrate the UK Premiere of Ruido rosa we are delighted to welcome back writer and director Roberto Flores Prieto, just one year after presenting the UK Premiere of Cazando luciérnagas at ¡Viva! 2014. Long may this new tradition continue!

Graduating in 1999 from the International School of Film and Television in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, Flores Prieto has already been recognised as a talented filmmaker in his home country, Colombia.

Rejecting relocation to the more established centres of cinematic production, Flores Prieto writes, directs and produces beautiful films closely connected to his home town, Barranquilla, which he describes as a deliberate decision to make cinema on the periphery. His second feature is also set on the stunning Caribbean coast of northern Colombia, but this time in an atmospheric and rain-drenched cityscape.
