To complement our preview screening of Pelo malo we are pleased to welcome director Mariana Rondón and producer Marité Ugas for a Q&A following the screening on Sat 8 Mar.

Director, screenwriter, visual artist, Mariana Rondón was born in Venezuela, studied Animated Film in Paris, and was in the first generation of graduates from the Film School EICTV, Cuba. Mariana’s first feature, At Midnight and a Half, co-directed by fellow ¡Viva! guest Marité Ugas, received 5 Opera Prima awards and participated in more than 40 international film festivals. Mariana also received numerous awards for her last feature Postcards from Leningrad.

Mariana’s robotics installation You Came With The Breeze (Fundación Telefónica Award) has been exhibited in Caracas, México City, Puebla, Gijón, Lima, Santiago and Beijing as part of the Olympics Cultural Project, 2008. She is presently working on the interactive installation Superbloques.
