Creative Careers – Art, Creativity and Resilience

This workshop offered young artists new ways of staying creative and inspired at home.  Future 20 artists Elena Brearly and Melissa Sorrell lead two different activities designed to spark new ideas: one using drawing and words to illustrate your future ambitions, the other finding new ways to use what’s around you at home in your art work.

HOME’s Last Place on Earth by Future 20 Collective and Studio Morison was one of our project highlights of 2020.  Originally set out to culminate in a large-scale exhibition for the main gallery space, the project was radically altered after lockdown was announced.  The final product was an incredible artistic achievement, with participants creating an online, virtual reality artwork within the confines of their homes.  We designed this workshop to pass on some of the lessons learnt to young people who need to boost their creative confidence, especially when there is currently no access to cultural venues.

Creative Careers workshops are for 15-18 year olds (Year 10 – Year 13), are free to attend and no previous experience is required.
