The course will consider Spanish cinema through prominent directors and how Spanish society and culture is reflected through the films. The course will start with the Franco regime (Buñuel, Saura) through to the Democratic period and the ‘New Spanish Cinema’ (Almòdovar, Medem, Amenábar) and conclude with an introduction to іViva! Spanish Film Festival.
