CHINA@Manchester

CHINA@Manchester presented by the University of Manchester and the City of Manchester, is the first UK festival to explore contemporary Chinese culture, with an exciting range of events, from summits on sustainability and the media economy to an online cuisine guide.

At Cornerhouse you can discover the work of two of China’s finest filmmakers, directors Jia Zhangke and Li Yang, whose films have screened to international acclaim and awards, marking out a new and distinctive identity for Chinese cinema.

With thanks to Jenny Hall.

Please note: due to unforeseeable changes in their promotional and filming schedule,  directors Jia Zhangke and Li Yang are not able to make a stop at Cornerhouse as previously advertised in our programme. We would like to apologise for this disappointment but do not let this deter you from watching their films. You are in for a treat.
