This illustrated talk will look at contemporary film and television documentaries, especially recent commercial successes such as ETRE ET AVOIR, BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE and BBC’s One Life series. Karen Scott will also consider the explosion of ‘emotion’ based documentary and notion of the ‘feminisation’ of documentary practice. The audience is invited to watch CAPTURING THE FRIEDMANS at 1.45pm and discuss the film afterwards.
