Aliyah Hussain: Drawing with Clay Workshop

Want to learn how to draw with clay?

Join Aliyah Hussain for a therapeutic workshop using clay as a material to create 3d drawings. Aliyah will introduce you to her practice and guide you through the process of working with coils and slabs as an expanded drawing practice.

Together you will make shapes and manipulate the clay inspired by the themes in Aliyah’s new exhibition Always Mysteries of the Tongue. Drawing inspiration from various visual text sources such as emojis, hieroglyphs, graffiti tags, coding, neon signs and inspirational wall decals. You will be invited to respond to the themes of the exhibition and make your own, symbols, signs and emojis.

No previous experience is needed for this workshop and material will be provided.
