Alexander Ugay

Alexander Ugay’s film and photographic work observes both the position of Central Asia within the globablised economy and it specifc post-Soviet History.  Using Soviet-era equipment to record complex images, and mixing them with folk music and blues he see similarities in ‘the provincial’ that exist all around the world.  Ugay’s work was included in the 9th Istanbul Biennale, and will be shown in Cornerhousein the spring of 2007.
