A (Very) Basic Introduction to Film Studies

Have you ever sat in the bar and overheard a bunch of friends talking about films and been intrigued, or even wanted to put them straight on a few things, but lacked the confidence to join in with their auteur this and genre that? If so, this basic entry level course is for you. Using extensive clips from a variety of films it offers an accessible introduction to some of the basic areas of film studies, such as mise-en-scène, authorship and genre, for anyone who wants to talk and think about film.
