A Bug’s Life: Animation Outside Hollywood

This month films such as SPIRITED AWAY and BELLEVILLE RENDEZ-VOUS demonstrate the diversity and versatility of the animated film, a category that is often synonymous with the Hollywood animation of Disney or Pixar. With the emphasis on how and why different kinds of animation get to be made, this illustrated talk by Jayne Pilling will consider examples of contemporary animation outside of the Hollywood model.
