What’s on > What’s on in December

‘Tis the season once again, and this year we have two shows to entertain and inspire you, no matter what your age.

For little ones aged 3-8, David Walliams’ The Slightly Annoying Elephant stomps into Theatre 2, causing mayhem and mischief! On our Theatre 1 stage, much-loved theatre company 1927 return with Roots, a celebration of folktales and storytelling told through stunning animation and live music. And that’s not all – our ground floor gallery is transformed into a cosy Christmas sitting room for The Manchester Project at Christmas, a series of festive tales from acclaimed Manchester writers, followed by cabaret and comedy, whilst early in December, drag icons Le Gateau Chocolat and Jonny Woo bring A Night at the Musicals back home for one last show.

In our cinemas, we’re strapping on our tap shoes and practising our jazz hands for the BFI’s Musicals! season, celebrating some of the very best big screen outings of our all-singing all-dancing family favourite genre.
