We launch our new season

Our new season has finally landed and we promise you an incredibly special six months in collaboration with exciting regional, national and international partners and artists.

We are pleased to announce two brand new theatre commissions, including a new version of Ibsen’s Ghosts by David Watson, directed by Polly Findlay, and a spectacular world premiere of Paul Auster’s City of Glass by 59 Productions and Duncan Macmillan. There will also be major solo exhibitions of new work by acclaimed artist Rachel Maclean, who will represent Scotland at the 2017 Venice Biennale and also is one of this year’s Frieze Film artists, and in 2017, a show of newly commissioned collaborations across music, magic and maths by anarchic artist John Hyatt. Expect a lot of exciting film, too, with an unrivalled programme from Film Fear, in collaboration with Film4, a Neville Smith Retrospective and a series of exclusive guest events.

We’ll also present a new talent development programme with fantastic opportunities for theatre makers and introduce new partnerships with world-class theatre talent including 1927, Mighty Heart Theatre and actor Katie West. As if that wasn’t enough, we have a completely redesigned Theatre 2 space to show you, with flexible seating, staging and lighting. More on that here.

And look out for our fun family-friendly programme, with regular screenings and exciting theatre shows, including Orbit Festival’s Molly’s Marvellous Moustache, by Fringe Theatre in association with LittleMighty; Kneehigh’s 946: The Amazing Story Of Adolphus Tips; Little Angel Theatre’s Christmas treat WOW! Said the Owl, bringing to life the acclaimed children’s book by award-winning author Tim Hopgood through a blend of storytelling, puppetry and music, directed by Joy Haynes; parent & baby screenings and relaxed performances and screenings. Excited? Us too!
