The Times included Arabian Nights in its Christmas Crackers: The 50 best shows feature published on Saturday 27 October, describing the production as “Exotic mysteries of the East, by Dominic Cooke and the director Amy Leach, as Shahrazad tells her tales of sorcery, enchantment, flying carpets, and talking birds.”
The production features live music performed each performance by Bolton-born jazz musician Arun Ghosh, the production’s musical director; dance sequences devised by choreographer Amir Giles; scores of spectacularly colourful costumes by Hayle Grindle; pearls hidden in cucumbers; a giant painted egg; and a beautiful bird made out of silk and paper.
