Q-Park and HOME team up for an extraordinary theatre experience

We have teamed up with Q-Park to present Greg Wohead’s The Backseat of My Car (and other safe places) as part of this year’s Orbit Festival.

The Backseat of My Car (and other safe places) is an interactive true storytelling piece for one audience member at a time. It’s about being a teenager and those moments when you’re on the verge of something exciting.

Orbit Festival 2017 brings together innovative new work from theatre makers across the globe who want to explore our place in the world. Many of these shows come straight from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, exploring our relationship with the past, how we remember, the stories we tell ourselves and what it is that makes us who we are.

The Backseat of My Car (and other safe places) will take place on the rooftop of Q-Park First Street on Tony Wilson Place, providing a spectacular backdrop for this intimate one-on-one coming of age journey.

Greg Wohead is a Texan writer and performer based in London. He often makes solo theatre work and one-to-one pieces and has shown work at BAC, Camden People’s Theatre, The Basement, Hatch and The Yard, where he is an Artistic Associate. Greg has two productions featuring in this year’s Orbit Festival – find out more about his other show Hurtling.

John Denton, Head of Sales and Marketing: Q-Park UK, commented: “Q-Park are delighted to work with HOME and the Orbit Festival, to provide a stage for The Backseat of my Car.  What better way to showcase such a unique and memorable experience than overlooking the Manchester skyline, from the city’s premier parking facility.”
