Nin Brudermann: nb – UK Book Launch – Preview the Book

The Young Masters Art Prize are delighted to support the launch of this title in the UK at The Lloyds Club, preview the book ahead of its release from 16th September 2014 – 5th December 2014. This is also a great chance to meet Brudermann, a featured artist at the Young Masters 2014 exhibition, who will be present at the event.

The publication presents an overview of the artist’s works from the end of the nineties onwards and reflects on the meaning of chance, play and research in Brudermann’s work, emphasised by the letters, playing cards and business cards that are inserted between the pages of the book. The book includes text by Anthony Haden-Guest, Dieter Buchhart and an interview with the artist by Arfus Greenwood.

Austrian artist Nin Brudermann (* 1970) is based in New York. Her work has previously been exhibited at the Biennale in Venice as well as in Austria in the museum quarter, in both the Kunsthalle Wien and the Kunsthalle Krems. Nin Brudermann dedicates herself to addressing fundamental questions: What do authenticity and reality mean and how do we deal with these terms in academia, film and art? How are these exploited and called into question?

Her works often require extensive gathering of materials, video recordings, photographs, academic analysis and expeditions. Brudermann’s films and installations fascinate and confuse the observer in equal measure with what seem like scientific relics and pieces of evidence.

Cornerhouse Publications can announce this fantastic new book, published by Verlag für moderne Kunst, will be available to order through our website by the end of September.
