New season now on sale

Our final season before we bring down the curtain on the name the Library Theatre Company and become HOME features a site specific production, a gem of British comedy, a brand new Christmas show, the return of re:play Festival and an innovative take on an old classic.

First up we have Manchester Sound: The Massacre, the third in our series of site-specific productions all about the Peterloo Massacre and eighties rave culture Manchester. This show will be performed at a secret city centre location.

In September we present Educating Rita, Willy Russell’s hilarious and thought provoking comedy about the relationship between a young hairdresser and her world weary English lecturer. Educating Rita will directed by our Artistic Director Chris Honer.

For our ever popular Christmas show we welcome back the Arabian Nights creative team of director Amy Leach and designer Hayley Grindle for Wanted! Robin Hood a brand new production by Charles Way.

re:play Festival returns for it’s seventh year running in January, our annual celebration of the best Mancunian fringe theatre from the last twelve months.

Then Chris Honer’s last production as Artistic Director, and our last as the Library Theatre Company, will be Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull in an incredible new modern version by Anya Reiss.

Want to know more? Why not take a couple of minutes out to listen to Chris Honer as he talks you through the work we are producing for our final season…

The doors to our new building at First Street are due to open in early 2015 and we are already planning our new programme of work as HOME in what is a very exciting time for the company.

So we hope you’ll join us, not only for our final season as the Library Theatre Company but on our exciting journey to HOME.
