#HOMEinspires Blog 4: With One Voice

Our Community & Outreach Programme Producer Anne Louise Kershaw invites you to an arts open day at the Booth Centre this weekend…

When we launched our #HOMEinspires programme back in October with the Arrival exhibition, it was wonderful for me to work alongside the very dedicated arts committee at the Booth Centre to bring the exhibition together.

On the day of the launch the Booth Centre had a photoshoot here at HOME to take images of all the amazing textile work they have created as part of their creative programme. The images of this can be seen here:

For those who are not familiar with the Booth Centre, they are a charity based in Manchester who bring about positive change in the lives of people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and helps them plan for and realise a better future. Part of how they do this is through an inspiring activity programme including a varied and wonderful arts programme. They are constantly seeking out opportunities to showcase the amazing work made by the many creatives who come to the centre.

Their exhibition at HOME is part of the With One Voice  – an international arts & homelessness festival which is running in Manchester from 12-18 Nov. With One Voice have a great programme of events for people to enjoy.

Also as part of the festival the Booth Centre are opening their doors this Sat 17 Nov for a centre-wide exhibition that celebrates the amazing artwork that is produced there everyday. This exhibition has again been curated by their wonderful arts committee who will be running tours on the day.

Why not head over and celebrate the skills and talents of the artist, poets, musicians and songwriters at the Booth Centre. The day will run from 11:00 – 15:00, with lots to see and get involved with, including interactive workshops running all day, where you can make a souvenir piece of artwork to take away with you, live music, pop up performances and films, as well as the great art decorating the walls. If that wasn’t enough refreshments will also be provided.
