HOME volunteers transform old print into building decorations for ¡Viva!

If you’ve visited HOME over the last two weeks, you may have noticed we’ve decorated our bars, box office and stairs for ¡Viva! 28th Spanish & Latin American Festival.

What you may not know, is that some of the decorations have a sustainable story behind them!

In the run up to ¡Viva! HOME’s Volunteer Programme Manager Felicity Faye hosted three social events for volunteers, giving them an opportunity to get crafty and create festival decorations out of our old film brochures. Starting with making bunting, they found that the offcuts were great for making star designs!

After ¡Viva! has finished on Thu 7 Apr, we’ll be very carefully taking the decorations down and storing them for the next time we need them.

“The creative sessions were a great success, and an opportunity to talk about all things ¡Viva! over tea and cake!”
