Behind the scenes of Edition #2

As part of Edition, our annual month long venture, which acts as a testing ground for innovation and cross disciplinary collaborations, we are pleased to present a new commission by Kai-Oi Jay Yung. Interval: A Narrative Psychosis previews tomorrow evening and opens on Saturday but we thought we would give you a sneaky peek of Gallery 1 while it was being installed this week.

For Interval: A Narrative Psychosis, Yung has created a multi-channel video installation that draws upon the recent journey she undertook across Hong Kong and California. The work seeks to draw parallels between these seemingly distinct countries, cross referencing diverse aspects of Yung’s experiences – from the South China seas to Palm Springs, from a Hong Kong face reader to an Alcatraz inmate.

With just a few more tweaks left to do all will be revealed at tomorrows preview 6-8pm. We are very much looking forward to it!

And if you want to hear more about the exhibition and the themes behind Yung’s work have a listen to this extract from the interview she did with Alex Hetherington last week…
