Join us for a staged reading of Abel González Melo’s latest play. Weathered illuminates the reality of a broken Cuba, a country divided between the past and the present; the island and exile. Moving between two time periods, we look at lives dictated by the ideals following the collapse of the Soviet Union in the 1990s when all subsidies were cut off, and the current conflicts of a younger generation with different expectations.

HOME was selected to take part in the prestigious 2016 World Stages project, devised to create a series of 12 linked international residencies and exchanges between major UK producing venues and international artists. Melo developed Weathered as part of his residency here at HOME.
