Islanders

re:play 2011 presents

A dark, witty drama about three very different people working on the remote Farne Islands. The Farne Islands, a wild and remote place off the Northumberland coast, was once home to saints and hermits. It is now a sanctuary for seabirds; and Islanders is the story of three of the wardens who work with them.

Peter is an embittered maverick, a self-styled, modern-day hermit, nominally managed by the career minded Ellen. Their stalemate is upset by the strange arrival of Nicola, a smart, urban woman who gradually wins Peter’s trust and sets in motion a series of events which explain how she has come to be here, and forces Peter and Ellen to confront their own histories.

This event contains some sexually explicit language.

NewsIslanders has been nomiated in this years MEN Theatre Awards for best production and Mark Frampton for as actor.
