21st ¡Viva! Spanish & Latin American Film Festival

On Thursday 5 – Monday 9 March we’ll open the 21st edition of ¡Viva! with a carefully-honed selection of cinema from Spain and Spanish-speaking Latin America. To celebrate our move down the road to HOME, we’ll not only have an event at Cornerhouse in March, but also two further events at HOME later in the year, so keep your eyes peeled for our Mexican weekender in June and our fiesta of Spanish cinema in autumn 2015!

Kicking off the weekend is the raucous black comedy ¿Quién mató a Bambi? (Who Killed Bambi?) with a special introduction by award-winning Sevillano director Santi Amodeo. Other special guests include Spanish director Alfonso Zarauza, who will be joining us on Friday 6 March for a Q&A following his film Os Fenómenos (Aces), as well as Colombian writer and director Roberto Flores Prieto, who will be discussing his new film Ruido rosa.

There’ll also be our regular study sessions for GCSE and AS/A2 Spanish language learners, led by Carmen Herrero from the Instituto Cervantes and an One Hour Intro to Latin American Cities on Screen on Monday 9 March.
