We’re kicking off the festival with the latest slice of madness and mayhem from Álex de la Iglesia, a fast-paced, high-energy farce that’ll tickle your funny bone with both black humour and slapstick comedy. The all-star ensemble piece contains some truly inspired casting decisions, including iconic Spanish crooner Raphael as a psychotic diva Alphonso, and heartthrob Mario Casas as his sexy-but-stupid rival Adanne. With the action taking place in a day on the set of a New Year’s Eve TV show, being recorded in October, the costumes, sets and impressively choreographed dance troupe sequences all combine to create a dazzling visual spectacle.
