Luis Arambilet, an artist filmmaker from Dominican Republic, will present a selection of his captivating short films in this special event.
Arambilet’s work mixes computer graphics and digital art with precision editing and experimental techniques. This selection of films will include La suerte (Luck) which explores the realms of chance and faith and Vals (Waltz), a rhythmic depiction of the monotony and routine of everyday construction work. For this piece, short sections of video were shot at the same time each day and the resulting footage has been edited, layered and set to a hypnotic waltz soundtrack.
Audiences will view a number of shorts and have the opportunity to discuss the films with Luis Arambilet – perfect for students of film, art or anyone interested in contemporary cinema.
