The Leopard

Directed by Luchino Visconti

The Leopard‘s sweeping narrative follows the decline of an aristocratic Sicilian clan as Garibaldi ascends. Lancaster is inspirational as the patriarch, with the rest of the stellar ensemble equally impressive. But the cast is matched by the gorgeous cinematography, opulent design and stunning set pieces, especially the famous ballroom scene.
