Fausta is a beautiful, introverted young Peruvian who suffers from “the milk of sorrow”, a mysterious illness affecting women abused during Peru’s war of terrorism. Having nursed her mother, Fausta refuses to be a victim and takes drastic steps to safeguard her purity. Nominated for the Best Foreign Language Oscar.
