Kaleldo

Directed by Brillante Mendoza

UK Premiere

A carefully observed and beautifully acted family drama which follows a widowed woodcutter as he attempts to keep his three very different daughters in line. The rebellious daughter, Grace, has just got married and is finding it hard to adjust; Lourdes is having an extra marital affair and the eldest, Jess, is trying to pick up the pieces of her life. The trials and tribulations of this rural family is told through a series of events, both celebratory and traumatic events – a wedding, a parade, a fire and a death – each marking the changes of summer and the volatile and changing nature of life.
