Lars von Trier’s latest provocation follows the highly intelligent Jack (Matt Dillon) over a span of 12 years and introduces the murders that define his development as a serial killer. Von Trier allows the audience to experience the story from Jack’s point of view, seemingly inviting debate about whether this is a work that deals with misogyny or is the work of a misogynist.
