Blue is the Warmest Colour

This Palme d’Or-winning love story from Franco-Tunisian filmmaker Abdellatif Kechiche is an enchanting film focusing on the life of Adele, as she navigates her late adolescence and grows into a young woman. The story begins with 15-year old Adele and follows her from her first taste of sex with a boy from school to her relationship with Emma, a mysterious blue-haired girl who she first encounters in the street. Blue is the Warmest Colour is an erotic, passionate and emotional film, and Adèle Exarchopoulos and Léa Seydoux give excellent performances as the young lovers.

The screening on Mon 25 August will be introduced by Clara Bradbury-Rance, PhD student in Contemporary Film at the University of Manchester.
