From the author of the much-loved novel One Day, Us is the story of Douglas Petersen, whose son, Albie, is about to leave for college, and whose wife of 21 years, Connie, is planning to leave soon afterwards. But first there will be the summer holiday – a Grand Tour of Europe’s major cities – during which Douglas devises a plan to win back the love of his wife and repair his troubled relationship with his son. The novel, a bittersweet comedy about the demands of parenthood and living together, has been longlisted for this year’s Man Booker Prize.
