RNCM audio weave: Manchester Creative Viola Studio

Musicians from the Manchester Creative Viola Studio at the Royal Northern College of Music will be making sporadic interventions in the exhibition space throughout the afternoon, giving real-time musical reactions to the themes raised by the work on display – from suspense to sexual identity, domination to exploitation – culminating in a staged performance in Gallery 3 at 18:00.

The Manchester Creative Viola Studio is a collective of young professional musicians based at the Royal Northern College of Music. Directed by international musician and composer Garth Knox (formerly of the internationally renowned Arditti Quartet) their aim is to interact musically with other art forms including cinema, sculpture and dance, taking classical music beyond the confines of the concert hall.
