Re:play Breakthrough Comedian Of The Year

A celebration of some of the best new stand-up comedy in the area, this night will be hosted by Manchester legend Justin Moorhouse. Seven highly acclaimed local acts will compete to win a cash prize, as voted for by the audience; great fun and not to be missed!

The lineup…

Tom Little has been performing stand-up since July 2013. Originally from Cumbria, he now lives in Salford. In 2014 he was a finalist in the BBC Radio New Comedy Award which was broadcast on Radio 2. He was also a semifinalist in So You Think You’re Funny, and finalist in Hot Water Comedy’s Comedian of the Year and came joint third in the Beat the Frog World Series.

James Meehan has been gigging tirelessly across the UK for 5 years. In that time he has done hundreds upon hundreds of gigs, written some award winning comedy, and formed a killer sketch group with his best mates.

Chris Washington began performing stand up comedy in July 2012, and after 2 years and a few hundred gigs for a host of reputable promoters up and down the country he is fast becoming one of the most sought after new acts on the circuit. With a cheeky Northern charm and hilarious tales it’s clear to see why Chris is flying up the comedy ladder.

Kiri Pritchard-Mclean has been making something of a name for herself in the short time she’s been performing stand up comedy. A unique and assured comic voice Kiri is known for her topical, deft and sometimes dark comedy. An enviable gag rate and work ethic has seen Kiri rise from open spot to weekend act in just three years and her quick wit and natural charm sees her as a much in demand compere excelling in arts centres and weekend clubs.

Penella Mellor is not a good grown up. She struggles daily with all aspects of adulthood: parenting, dating and being nice to other people.
She also knows something about Winnie The Pooh that’ll make your ears bleed! Likes: Cake, Blind Date, Funerals. Dislikes: Children (her own and others).

Tom Short has the mind of a socially awkward man. A certain childishness takes you away to a surreal world that is under pinned by dry wit and logic that holds it all together seamlessly. Tom is also happy to live his awkward life openly for the world to laugh at.

Peter Brush is highly distinctive performer and deft writer of finely crafted jokes, He’s clocked up an ever-increasing amount of respect in his first few years on the comedy circuit. With his slight bespectacled frame and scruffy hair, Brush unassumingly takes the stage before consummately conquering it with an arsenal of razor sharp quirky one-liners and peerlessly original routines, all delivered in an amusingly awkward fashion.
