CONSULATE OF CORNERHOUSE: A PROJECT BY ARCHIPELAGO
Fri 18 Feb, 5pm, Triangle Shopping Centre, Manchester
Entrance on Fennel St, opposite Cathedral Gardens/Urbis
Manchester-based artist group Archipelago invite you to the Consulate of Cornerhouse.
Based in a disused retail unit at the Triangle Shopping centre, the Consulate will become our official off-site building ‘on foreign soil’. Visitors will get a chance to look behind the scenes of the venue and enter life-size replica of our Director’s office, complete with programming plans for possible future Cornerhouse projects.
The Consulate of Cornerhouse explores the new trend of participation, collaboration and openess in arts organisations, and questions how roles are blurring in our work with audiences, artists and curators. Where does the art organisation stop and the audience begin?
There will also be an accompanying installation at Cornerhouse from Thu 24 Feb, where face casts of the current Cornerhouse staff will be hung on the walls of the café bar.
A Cornerhouse micro-commission, supported by Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
With support from Manchester City Council and the Triangle Shopping Centre
