David Shrigley Life Drawing Drop In

As part of David Shrigley’s forthcoming exhibition HOW ARE YOU FEELING?, Gallery 3 will feature a major new sculptural commission. The Life Model will be a larger-than-life humanoid figure with animatronic features – think David Shrigley’s own version of Michelangelo’s David, albeit pulled through the mangle of the artist’s uniquely disquiet mind.

During the run of the exhibition, visitors will be encouraged to pick up pencils and paper provided in the gallery space to sketch their own interpretation to add to the surrounding walls, which will soon be covered from floor to ceiling with thousands of attempts to capture a likeness.

This is where we need YOUR help.

Sketches are required prior to the exhibition’s opening night, so we are opening Gallery 3 and providing materials on the following dates and times so that anyone, of any age, and any ability, can come along, make their sketch, and have it appear in our galleries in time for the launch. Anyone who thinks they can’t draw is especially encouraged, as much as those who know that they can. David will be in residence during this time and may pop in and out to offer encouragement.
