Bren O’Callaghan, Visual Arts Programme Manager at Cornerhouse, will host a conversation and slideshow with local artists Rob Bailey and Bryony Jackson following a screening of feature documentary Beautiful Losers. Rob Bailey’s designs for print, record labels, posters and t-shirts encompass not only illustration but also 3-dimensional forms. Bryony Jackson’s prolific output includes drawings, paintings, zines, lino prints and stuffed creatures; all featuring a lively family of kooky and unnerving characters.

Led by Bren O’Callaghan, Visual Arts Programme Manager at Cornerhouse, and artists Rob Baily and Bryony Jackson.

The greatest cultural accomplishments in history have never been the result of the brainstorms of marketing men, corporate
focus groups, or any homogenized methods; they have always happened organically. In the 1990s, a loose-knit group of American artists and creators, began their careers in just such a way, influenced by popular underground youth subcultures of the day, such as skateboarding, graffiti, street fashion and independent music.
