Christmas at HOME: We’ve Got Some Real Treats in Store For You

This Christmas, we have a put together a packed programme full of fun just for you.

Australian Brief Factory’s award-winning, all-singing, all-dancing music and cabaret show Hot Brown Honey will hit our stage from Tue 12 Dec. An unapologetic celebration of similarities and differences, fighting the power never tasted so sweet as it does with Hot Brown Honey – presenting a colourful, riotous and breathtakingly exciting show that also features burlesque and circus. Hot Brown Honey was one of Edinburgh 2017’s most talked about shows, and promises to be among the most explosive shows in Manchester this festive season – get a sneak preview here. We’ll even be serving special Hot Brown Honey cocktails!

Continuing our Cabaret Christmas theme, you can also experience exclusive, one-night only shows by post post-modern showgirl Meow Meow, making a long-awaited return to the city with Feline Intimate, featuring songs from 1930’s Berlin to 1960’s Paris (Wed 6 Dec), and the following evening, festival favourites The Tiger Lillies, with their dark and mysterious show A Cold Night in Soho (Thu 7 Dec). Take advantage of our double bill ticket deal for these two shows, and enjoy 10% off our food menu.

Looking to do something with the kids? Last year’s Wow! Said the Owl by Little Angel Theatre was a big hit with our younger audience members, and the award-winning company return to HOME with Red Riding Hood and the Wolf – an enchanting re-working of the timeless tale, told from the viewpoint of the Wolf, who’s maybe not so big and bad as he first appears…. (from Thu 7 Dec).

Film director Tim Burton has always been a firm favourite of ours, and the cult director will be the subject of a short season this Christmas, kicking off with a special screening of Edward Scissorhands (Fri 8 Dec), followed by a party on the theme of this dark romantic fantasy. Other films in the season include the animated Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas and Batman Returns. The programme is completed with a season of classic movies, comprising the evergreen tear-jerker It’s A Wonderful Life, sparkling musical Meet Me In St Louis, and who can resist Michael Caine in The Muppet Christmas Carol?

And while you’re here, why not check out our major new exhibition for Autumn/Winter 2017, The Return of Memory, marking the centenary of the Russian Revolution by exploring how contemporary artists are responding to the state of the ‘New East’ today, continues throughout the festive season, closing on Sunday 7 January 2018.

Hungry? Let us do the hard work with a delicious 4-course festive menu for groups of 10-50 people, served in our restaurant. The turkey and chestnut stuffing ballotine is a show-stopping twist on the traditional, and there are great-tasting vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options at each course to make sure the whole party leave feeling festive.
